A (probably later) Bronze Age (c.1150-800 BC) copper alloy tanged awl, with both tang and pointed end slightly bent. The center of the awl is circular in cross-section, tapering to a rectangular-sectioned tang and circular-sectioned tip. The total length of the awl is 75.3mm, with the circular cross-section 4.3mm in diameter and a weight of 6.02g. The tang measures 2.4mm in width and 0.6mm in thickness, and the pointed end 1.0mm in diameter. The patina is greeny-brown in colour and a little rough. A Roman (AD 43-100) copper alloy early Continental cruciform plate brooch with tinned (or silvered) surface to the front and a hinge mechanism, missing its pin and the curl of the catchplate. All damage is old. The plate is flat in cross-section (c. 1.3mm thick) with incurved edges, which terminate in two lobes divided by a central groove at the top and bottom of the brooch (these are now missing at the top), with the two sides terminating in single knops (only one survives). An incomplete Roman copper-alloy gilded and tinned (or silvered) circula disc plate brooch (AD 200-350) of Hull T270; Hattatt's gilded glass 'centre-boss' type, missing the pin and glass centre-boss; iron corrosion around the lug is from the psring mechanism. The central wall measures 23.1 mm in external diameter, 14.3mm in internal diameter and stands 2.5mm high. An Iron Age silver unit of the Southern Region / Regini, probably dating to the period c.60-20 BC. Obverse: Bust right with crescent shaped hair curls. Reverse: Horse right, pellet in ring above, pellets and broken ring in front, possible devolved lyre motif below. This coin probably belongs in Bean's (2000: p. 70) type QsT1-6 group, likely related to silver units of the Regini with lyre motif beneath the horse (e.g. ABC, p. 53, no. 650) and with distribution focusaed in southern Britain around West Sussex and Hampshire. A number of examples are now recorded on the PAS, cf. SUR-CA4497…

Copper alloy strap end that is rectangular shape with slightly convex sides and a pointed forward edge. Unfortunately the strap end is very badly corroded resulting in the loss of almost all detail. The forward edge would have been decorated with an animal face mask but no detail remains, behind the main panel appears to have been decorated with a geometric pattern, but again no detail remains. There rear of the strap end is slotted to accommodate the strap, however, the top half of the slot that is truncated, the remaining bottom panel shows that there would have been two rivet hole…
