A silver Medieval penny; a voided long cross penny of Henry III (AD 1216 - 1272), probably Class 3 dating from AD 1248 - 1250. Mint is probably London, moneyer unknown. See North (1994) Volume 1, number 986 - 988. It is 18mm long, 9.4mm wide and 0.8mm thick. It weighs 0.68gm.

An incomplete, copper alloy, Roman brooch of Wilsford type, AD 100-200.The object comprises the foot and part of the catchplate of the brooch, the upper bow, head and pin are missing. There is a transverse collar just below the break on the bow, below this the bow has a triangular cross section and terminates in a scalloped terminal collar. The object has an even green patina. A similar example can be found in Hattatt 2000 no.1519, fig.161, page 302. Length: 31.2mm Height: 10.9mm Width: 6.4mm Weight: 3.8g

A copper alloy Nuremberg jetton, dating from about AD 1490 - 1550, probably a Ship penny type with 'four lis in a lozenge' reverse and fictitious legends derived from VOLGVE LA GALLEE DE FRANCE and VIVE LE BON ROI DE FRANCE. The jetton depicts a ship, but the details are illegible. It is 26.7mm in diameter and 1.2mm thick. It weighs 2.76gm. The jetton has a green paina and is slightly bent. A small piece is missing. Compare Mitchiner, 1988, Jettons, Medalets and Tokens, Volume 1, pages 365-376. These jettons were made in Nuremberg for the French market, but they circulated widely.

A fragment of a cast copper alloy disc brooch of probable early-medieval (Anglo-Saxon) date. The fragment consists of part of the outer edge and some of the central part of the brooch. The upper side is decorated around the outer edge with repeating punched dots, slightly recessed and retaining traces of white metal (silvering) within. An incomplete copper-alloy strap fitting of Iron Age to Roman date, c.200 BC - AD 200. The object comprises a semi-circular loop, broken at both ends with an integral smaller semi-circular sprue projecting into the larger loop. To the outer edge of the large loop, below the sprue the remains of another loop project, again semi-circular and broken at both ends. The metal has a mid-green patina and is in fair condition. An incomplete medieval to post medieval copper alloy double loop buckle, dating from. The buckle is rectangular in shape, with one of the loops missing. The breaks are worn. On the outer frame of the complete loop the frame widens in a triangular shape in the centre. The inside of the frame is bevelled, and it is sub circular in cross section. The pin bar is trapezoidal in cross section, the pin is missing. The buckle has a light green patina. It measures 28.9mm by 28.7mm, and weighs 3.98g.

A copper alloy link pin for a chain probably of modern (post-industrialisation) date. The link pin is cylinder shaped with two widened head terminals at either end, one of which is now mishapen. The barrel of the link pin is smooth but there are two indentations visible possibly as a result of use. The link pin is too big for a bicycle chain; it could be from a motorbike, chainsaw or similar. Recorded for reference and comparison.

A fragment from a copper alloy Early Medieval harness mount or brooch, dating from about AD 560 - 700. Only about an eighth of the disc survives, assuming it was circular. The fragment has one original curved edge which is stepped with a narrow, thin outer border, then a wide plain border, slightly proud of the central design and outer band. The main design is formed of triple stranded zoomorphic interlace in relief; the central strand appears beaded from the use of transverse punches. An incomplete copper-alloy hooked clasp dating to the early Post-Medieval period (Read Class E Type 5, c. AD 1500-1550). The clasp is sub-lozenge shaped with an integral sub-rectangular attachment loop. The plate is decorated with moulded relief and openwork consisting of a unhatched Hungerford knot with each end terminating at a pellet either side of the loop. The reverse of the clasp is flat and plain. The clasp is broken beneath the knot and the hook is missing. The clasp measures 16mm in length, 18.5mm in width and 2.5mm in thickness. It weighs 1.67 grams. Read 2008, p. 110, no. 438.
