A Post-Medieval gold signet (or seal) finger-ring, dating to the late 16th to 17th century AD. The bezel is oval in shape with a sub-rectangular cross-section. The external surface of the bezel measures 15.8mm x a width of 13.4mm. Approximately 0.5mm in from the edge is a beaded border formed of closely set short lines. A thin and shallow incised line runs around the inner side of the beaded border. At the centre of the bezel is a coat of arms on a flat-topped shield.
