An incomplete Early-Medieval (Anglo-Scandinavian) copper-alloy stirrup-strap mount (c. 1000-c. 1100). The plate of this mount is roughly lozenge shaped in plan. It has an oblique rectangular flange at the base which is angled back at about 45° from the plane of the plate. The flange is pierced with a hole that contains the corroded remains of an iron rivet. The top of the mount narrows to form a lobe and is pierced to form a loop. The hole of the loop contains the remains of an iron rivet. Incomplete Middle Saxon ansate brooch of Thorle's (2001) Group XI B 2 dating to the period c. AD 720 - 850. It exhibits one flattened rectangular terminal with a knop at each corner and on either side of the junction with the bow. The bow is gently curved and terminates in an old break. The other terminal is missing. The front of the bow is decorated by a series of punched ring-and-dot motifs bordered on either long edge by an engraved line. An early medieval sceat made of copper alloy with a silver wash. The obverse depicts a figure standing face on in a boat and holding a cross to the left. The area to the right is not decipherable and the figure may be holding a bird. Similar examples (Series K) can be found in Abramson,T, 2006. A fragment of an Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) silver penny of Cnut (1016-1035), dating to the period 1024-1030. (North 1991: 168, ref: 787). Hild. G. The inscriptions are missing due to breaks or clipping. Obverse: [ ]; Helmeted, draped and cuirassed bust left, sceptre in front. Reverse: [ ]; Short voided cross united at base by two circles, in centre a pellet. In each angle a broken annulet enclosing a pellet. Length: 11.5mm; width: 6.7mm. Weight: 0.18g. North, J.J. 1994. Incomplete Middle Saxon copper alloy Ansate brooch. The terminals are flat, ovoid and decorated with four l grooves which form an oval. The inner oval is divided in to quadrants by four grooves; a further four grooves outline the quadrant into a diamond shape. The bow was probably D-sectioned but has been squashed. The double pin lug retains part of an iron spindle. An integral hooked catchplate is located on the reverse. Overall length 29mm, diameter of terminal 10mm,weight 76.4g. Height of pin lug.7mm,width of bow 4mm. 8th - 9th century.
