A complete Medieval silver long cross cut farthing of Henry III (1216-1272), minted by Nicole. Class 2a or 2b (probably 2a on account of the shape of the star initial mark), 1248 (North 1994: 226, ref: 985/1). Obverse: h[ENRICVS REX TE]RCI; Crowned bust facing without sceptre. Reverse: NIC/[ ]/[ ]/[ ]; Voided long cross with three pellets in each quadrant. Length: 8.9mm; width: 8.9mm. Weight: 0.32g. DA=12:11. North, J.J. 1994. A cast lead stopper, possibly from a pot or jug. In form, the object is a truncated cone, undecorated, with an overall smooth creamy white patina. A transverse hole 4.5 mm diameter runs through the object roughly halfway up its side. Possibly this was to accommodate a thread or handle to facilitate its removal. Diameter 19.2 mm, tapering to 6.3, height is 17.1 mm.

An fragment of a copper alloy brooch of Roman date, probably Colchester Derivative, circa AD 43-100. All that survives of the brooch is the upper part of the bow and the remains of the bow head. The bow head is hump-like, and angular (comma shaped) in profile. The head of the bow is broad and tapers to a narrow, pointed terminal. At the rear of the head of the brooch is a recess that would have held the coiled spring and pin which are both now missing.
