A Roman copper alloy As of Hadrian dating to AD119 (Reece period 6). PON[T MAX TR POT] COS III, S C, BRITANNIA (in exergue) reverse type depicting Britannia seated facing right, foot on rock, resting head on right hand and holding sceptre, large shield to right. As RIC II, p. 412, no. 577B. This is a coin of British Association, struck in Rome for issue in Britain - 39 specimens were found in the Sacred Spring in Bath (As Walker, 1988: p. 291, nos. 1-39, pl. XXXI).

A silver Roman coin; a denarius of Domitian (AD 81-96) dating from AD 88. (Reece Period 4). The obverse depicts a laureate head facing right, [IMP] CAES DOMIT AVG GERM [...]. The reverse depicts Minerva standing left holding spear, hand resting on her side, IMP (XVI) COS (XIV CENS P P P). Mint of Rome. Compare Sear Volume 1, number 2736 onpage 495 which is similar, and RIC vol II, no. 174 for a similar coin of different date. The coin is 18.9mm diameter, 1.8mm thick and 2.78g.
