A small incomplete Medieval annular brooch dating to c1250-1400. The frame has a beaded outer edge and a constriction for the pin, now missing. The back of the frame is flat with a slightly bevelled inside edge.

A complete and slightly misshapen Medieval copper-alloy annular brooch pin (c. 1200-c. 1500). The pin has a shaft, collar and loop. The tapering shaft is circular in cross-section and close to the collar its diameter is 2.1mm. The circular collar has a diameter of 4.7mm. The open loop is flat on both faces and has a thickness of 1.4mm. Length: 27.7mm; diameter of collar: 4.7mm. Weight: 0.73g. This buckle pin is corroded and green with flecks of a darker green patina.

Incomplete Roman copper alloy plate brooch of Mackreth's (2011) Type PL CONT 14. dating to the period c. AD 75 - 150. Circular plate with a projecting central circular boss surrounded by a wide recessed flute. The boss exhibits acentral reserve pellet surrounded by a concave-sided cross filled with traces of degraded enamel. Medieval copper alloy annular brooch dating to the period c. AD 1200 - 1350. Flat annular frame with a constriction for the pin. The upper face exhibits traces of a pattern of a series of circular bosses, now missing, marked by traces of a white substance, probably adhesive. The butt of the sheet metal pin is wrapped around the constriction. Similar examples are discussed by Egan & Pritchard (2002, p. 252 - 254, nos. 1323 & 1328).

Roman copper alloy thistle brooch, Length: 41 mm, width: 25 mm, thickness: 6 mm, weight: 8.66 g The brooch was found in two fragments which join. It has a circular cross sectioned, rectangular shaped hollow headplate which sits above a flat backplate. This has a circular upper half and a trapezoidal shpaed lower half. The reverse of this section houses the catchplate which is sub rectangular in form. The top part has traces of possible tinning/silvering on its surface, but the object appears to be misssing a front plate as there are no traces of decoration?
