Incomplete Roman copper alloy plate brooch of Mackreth's (2011) Type PL CONT 14. dating to the period c. AD 75 - 150. Circular plate with a projecting central circular boss surrounded by a wide recessed flute. The boss exhibits acentral reserve pellet surrounded by a concave-sided cross filled with traces of degraded enamel. Roman ceramic base sherd from a Samian ware vessel, probably a dish or bowl, dating to the period c. AD 120 - 260. Part of the foot ring and the floor of the vessel, projecting at a shallow angle from the top of the foot ring. The fabric is a buff orange colour and is fully oxidised. It is hard and exhibits frequent micaceous inclusions and occasional poorly sorted limestone inclusions. The sherd is heavily abraded, but retains a small amount of lustrous dark orange/red slip. The vessel likely derives from the central Gaulish Lezoux production centre.

Medieval copper alloy annular brooch dating to the period c. AD 1200 - 1350. Flat annular frame with a constriction for the pin. The upper face exhibits traces of a pattern of a series of circular bosses, now missing, marked by traces of a white substance, probably adhesive. The butt of the sheet metal pin is wrapped around the constriction. Similar examples are discussed by Egan & Pritchard (2002, p. 252 - 254, nos. 1323 & 1328).

Fragment of post medieval copper alloy furniture escutcheon consisting of an incomplete central plate decorated with four punched annulets arranged around a central keyhold-shaped aperture. On one side is a lobed terminal with a central rivet hole engraved with a simple foliate design. See: DOR-A2D44B, NMS-CC3B63 & NMS-A8E461 which appear to be fragments of a similar style of fitting.

Late medieval to early post medieval copper alloy thimble dating to the period c. AD 1300 - 1550. It is formed of a single piece of sheet copper alloy, cylindrical with a domed top which now has a jagged circular aperture. The exterior is covered in a series of hand-punched circular pits. A circumferential groove runs around the mouth. Similar thimbles have been dated to the later part of the medieval period (c. Medieval copper alloy single loop buckle dating to the period c. AD 1200 - 1400. D-shaped loop with an offset strap bar which has an oval knop at either end. The front edge is expanded, with a central constriction for a sheet metal roller, flanked at either end by a rounded knop. The roller exhibits a wide central groove for the pin rest flanked on either side by a series of narrow transverse grooves. The pin is missing. See: Egan &Pritchard, 2002, p. 74, no. 301.

Incomplete late medieval to post medieval copper alloy double loop buckle dating to the period c. AD 1500 - 1650. The central narrowed strap bar is trapezoidal in cross-section. One loop is intact. Medieval copper alloy composite strap end dating to the period c. AD 1300 - 1450. It consists of two symmetrical sheet metal plates with a forked spcaer in the centre, The forked spacer terminates in a projecting collared knop. The three components are held together by a copper alloy rivet at either end of the sheets. Both rivets sit flush with the surfaces of the plates. See: Egan & Pritchard, 2002, p. 142 - 143, no. 660.

Incomplete Medieval copper alloy hinged mirror case dating to the period c. AD 1300 - 1500. Normally these artefacts consist of two matching circular hinged discs that close together in order to protect the mirror, however, only one of the disc remains. This has an inwards facing rim that project down at a right angle fromm the top of the disc. Projecting from one side is the stub of the clasp. Incomplete medieval to post medieval foot from a cooking vessel such as a cauldron, posnet or skillet dating to the period c. AD 1300 - 1700. The leg has a worn break at the top. It is trapezoidal in cross-section with a slightly concave reverse and expands into the moulded foot. The front is divided by a prominent central mid-rib,flanked by a shallower rib on either side.
