Incomplete Roman copper alloy headstud brooch of Mackreth's (2011) Type HDST 6 dating to the period c. AD 50 - 125. The head exhibits C-shaped wings with a transverse seam and central recess for the pin. Within are the corroded remains of the iron axis bar for the hinged pin mechanism. An incomplete Roman cast copper alloy umbonate brooch dating to c AD 100 - 200. This is a dished cone brooch almost certainly made in Britain (Macreth), circular, with a concave sided cone rising from the bottom of a dish whose outer edge is also a concave curve.
