A complete and slightly misshapen Medieval copper-alloy annular brooch pin (c. 1200-c. 1500). The pin has a shaft, collar and loop. The tapering shaft is circular in cross-section and close to the collar its diameter is 2.1mm. The circular collar has a diameter of 4.7mm. The open loop is flat on both faces and has a thickness of 1.4mm. Length: 27.7mm; diameter of collar: 4.7mm. Weight: 0.73g. This buckle pin is corroded and green with flecks of a darker green patina.

In plan the pendant takes the form of a square topped shield, with a transverse attachment loop projecting from the centre of the top edge. The front of the pendant is inlaid with enamel, although it has been mostly lost and is discoloured to a dark green-black where it survives. Against this uncertain field are two silver (argent) bars, surmounted by three uncertain charges, also silver. The reverse is plain. Traces of iron corrosion survive in the perforation of the attachment loop.…

An incomplete copper-alloy rotary key of medieval date, c.AD 1150 - 1450. The stem of the key is ovate and hollow with both ends terminating in worn breaks. A sub-rectangular bit projects from one end of the stem and comprises a rectangular ribbed panel from which three wards with two clefts project. One ward in U-shaped. The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The key is 39.3mm long, the stem is 9.6mm in diameter. The bit is 27.5mm wide, 6.9mm thick. The key weighs 20.9g. Keys of a similar form are illustrated in Egan (2010) p.155, fig.88, no.313.

An incomplete copper alloy late medieval purse frame, dating AD1450-1550. The bar is L-shaped in cross-section, transitioning into a flat, incomplete perforated lug at one end and truncated by an old break at the other. One flange of the L-sectioned is perforated three times along its length. It is 56.47mm in length, 7.37mm in width and weighs 8.40g. The hole which is clearly designed for fixing is c 5mm in diameter, the three smaller holes which may have been added later and are now damaged are c 3mm in diameter. Cf. Roman ceramic base sherd from a Samian ware vessel, probably a dish or bowl, dating to the period c. AD 120 - 260. Part of the foot ring and the floor of the vessel, projecting at a shallow angle from the top of the foot ring. The fabric is a buff orange colour and is fully oxidised. It is hard and exhibits frequent micaceous inclusions and occasional poorly sorted limestone inclusions. The sherd is heavily abraded, but retains a small amount of lustrous dark orange/red slip. The vessel likely derives from the central Gaulish Lezoux production centre.

The button front bears an incised design portraying a flower, perhaps a rose, with petals delineated by intersecting curving lines, and the centre of the flower by straight incised lines. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1700-1800. The front is decorated with an engraved design that is difficult to make out possibly a stylised flower probably added with the aid of a hand-operated machine. The handle from a post-Medieval 'fob' seal matrix (c. 1700-c. 1800). This handle is made of sheet copper-alloy and the frame is made up of an openwork decoration of moulded foliage that is leaves and possibly bods. The fob seal would have comprised an oval intaglio which is missing. It is lacking a separate loop at the at the apex, but the inside of the uppermost openwork decoration seems very worn and thus it was very likely that was where a chain would have connected the swivel fob seal with the wearer's pocket/waistcoat. A Post-Medieval copper alloy gilded strsp fitting, datign to c. AD 1600-1700. The mount consists of an openwork, sub-piriform plate with triangualr aperture, with acorn shaped knops at either end, and rounded knops in line with the point of the aperture. The space is filled by a band of moulded pellets, with traces of gilding surviving. Two integral lugs project from the reverse in the longitudinal median line. Medieval copper alloy annular brooch dating to the period c. AD 1200 - 1350. Flat annular frame with a constriction for the pin. The upper face exhibits traces of a pattern of a series of circular bosses, now missing, marked by traces of a white substance, probably adhesive. The butt of the sheet metal pin is wrapped around the constriction. Similar examples are discussed by Egan & Pritchard (2002, p. 252 - 254, nos. 1323 & 1328).
