Cast Copper alloy post-Medieval heart shaped mount dating from circa AD1550 - AD1650.
The domed mount is of a composite construction with three tapering Copper alloy sheet metal attachment spikes, applied to the rear. Two of the spikes are fixed at the top and the third towards the bottom of the object. The spikes are turned over pointing towards the centre, whch is indicative the object was originally attached to fabric or leather. The front face has an incised border and the rear is undecorated.
