A medieval copper-alloy strap-end, c.1300-1500. The object is composed of two sheets of copper alloy that have been riveted together upon either side of a leather strap. The terminal of the object is decorated with a small central rounded point. The shoulders are rounded. The rest of the object is undecorated. The piece has an even green patina. The opposite end to the decorated terminal is pierced through both sheets to accommodate a rivet.

Medieval (c. 1230 to c. 1400) strap end: The copper alloy strap end is an elongated triangle in plan with a flat small knop at the tip. It is composed of three places, the larger outer place which has damaged edges, an internal shorter plate used as a spacer and a plate on the reverse which is more narrow than the outer plate A copper alloy rivet holds the three plates together at the narrower edge. There is a rivet hole at the opposite terminal on the outer and back plate. The strap end is undecorated.
The surface is mottled dark green and is abraded.

Medieval copper alloy strap end fragment, Length: 30 mm, width: 23 mm, thickness: 3 mm, weight: 5.84 g.
The object consists of a fragment of the lower part of a 'lyre 'shaped strap end. The upper portion is sub rectangular in form but represents the lower portion of a crescent shaped fragment. It has two circular rivets present, sitting side by side, below a fragment of a complete edge, with a raised solid border, and sitting above a curved raised line forming the lower edge of the crescent. Medieval copper alloy composite strap end dating to the period c. AD 1300 - 1450. It consists of two symmetrical sheet metal plates with a forked spcaer in the centre, The forked spacer terminates in a projecting collared knop. The three components are held together by a copper alloy rivet at either end of the sheets. Both rivets sit flush with the surfaces of the plates.
