Medieval copper alloy buckle and plate, Length: 63 mm, width: 21 mm, thickness: 5 mm, weight: 12.25 g. The object consists of a rectangular plate which has been folded over at one end to form a loop to hold the buckle frame. The fold is held in place with two circular rivets and a further two rivets are housed in the far end of the plate. The buckle frame is D shaped and has a slightly flared curved end. There is a tapering buckle pin, folded around the buckle frame sitting in a rectangular hole through the plate. There is possibly some incised decoration in the centre of the plate…
