A cast copper alloy belt mount or buckle plate of probably high medieval date (1200-1400). The plate is broadly square in plan and is slightly curved in profile. It is pierced irregularly in four places (diameter 2.0mm) with a small copper alloy rivet remaining in one of the holes. The upper face is decorated with a lion or mythical beast - most probably a dragon - engraved onto the surface. Large fragment of a cast bronze / copper alloy sword blade of later Bronze Age date (1100 - 750 BC), The blade is rectangular in plan and tapers slightly in length. The long edges are abraded resulting in the loss of part of the cutting edge. The blade facets are present and the blade has been sharpened with long smooth marks from honing. The cross section of the blade is relatively flat with no sign of a raised central mid-rib. A cast copper alloy, single loop buckle cast with an integral plate, dating from the medieval period c. AD 1250 - 1400. The buckle is very small it has an oval frame with a broad outer edge and thickened plate on the lower edge - the external edges have a transverse moulded bar which terminate is pointed flanking knops. The plate is tapers dramatically and then expands in an arc before tapering to a point. The upper surface of the plate is decorated with a cast design of ridges. A cast lead alloy rectangular sectioned bar with a sub oval profile and rounded terminals. The upper surface of each terminal is pierced by cast holes which are 4.0mm in diameter. There are wear marks presenting as slight grooves on the leading edges of each external hole; it is likely these are caused through wear. There is no decoration present. The foot is broken on the lower edge what remains is broadly sub-rectangular in plan and a triangular wedge shape in profile. The leg is undecorated and plain with a vertical rib descending on the outer edge. The upper surface has a projecting circular boss at the mid-point. An incomplete copper alloy barb-spring padlock, of Medieval date (AD 1150 to AD 1250). The padlock barrel is much distorted and survives poorly originally the body was tubular / circular or octagonal shape with an open seam on one side. From the tip of one side a rectangular L shaped bar extends which tapers along its length to a corroded point. Within the barrel are two projecting spikes which are probably the tips of two rivets which held the spring mechanism in place. A cast copper alloy hooked strap fitting of probable post medieval date (1600-1800). The fitting is robust being broadly rectangular in plan. The fitting tapers from an expanded rectangular hoop to a thick D sectioned shank. The shank tapers along its length and terminates in a cast hooked projection - the tip of which is broken and lost. The reverse is flat and the remains of an iron plate are held to it by two cast copper rivets. The artefact is bent and abraded through movement in the soil. A complete Medieval copper alloy French jetton. The obverse depicts a crown with a large central fleur de lis and two lateral lis. The reverse depicts a tripple stranded cross fleuretty within a four arched tressure. There is no reverse inscription. The crown was introduced as an obverse design by Philip VI in 1340 and used until 1364.

A medieval, sheet copper-alloy buckle plate. Description: The plate is rectangular in plan, narrowed at one end, and folded over to fit the strap bar of the buckle with a central notch cut out to accomodate the pin. There are five drilled holes for attachment rivets, one near to each corner of the plate and one in the centre. Four of these holes contain dome-headed copper-alloy rivets with the fifth rivet missing from one of the corner holes. There are traces of gilding over the front surface.
