Head plate and part of bow from an Anglo-Saxon small long brooch. The head has two circular holes 3mm in diameter close to the upper edge. The outer edges of the head are decorated with small punched dots. The brooch is in poor condition, is 35mm long, 23mm wide, 6mm thick and weighs 8.34g.

A complete cast lead-alloy official four ounce avoirdupois weight dating to the Post-Medieval period, c. 1588-1603. It is circular in plan and broadly rectangular in section, with neatly chamfered edges in evidence around its entire circumference. An incomplete cast copper-alloy, gold leaf and garnet Early Anglo-Saxon zoomorphic shield mount of Dickinson and Harke's group C (figural appliques usually of gilt bronze in the shape of fish or other animals), dating c. 500-600 AD. In plan the mount would probably have taken the form of a fish or aquatic creature: the 'head' end is broken away, but the rest of the object is preserved intact. A post-Medieval copper-alloy scale knife stop/end-cap (1500-1600). The end-cap is broadly pentagonal in plan and has two broad flat faces. At the top there are three lobes and on each broad face each lobe has a circular 'blind' hole. On the underside a transverse slot contains the remains of an iron tang. This object is reddish brown. An incomplete and very worn post-Medieval copper-alloy double-looped buckle (c. 1500-c. 1650). The pin is missing. This buckle frame is convex at the front and flat at the rear. Each oval loop is similar in size and internally bevelled at the front. The front of both outer edges has transverse grooves. The bar is triangular in cross-section and has a small deposit of iron mid-way along its length. At each end of the bar there is a small knop. The frame is smooth and reddish brown. Complete lead stylus of medieval or post-medieval date (c. 1200 - 1700 AD). The stylus consists of a lead rod which is square in section, with two sides tapering to form a point at one end. The object is light grey in colour. It is 68.0mm in length and 8.0mm in width, with a weight of 31.13g. This type of stylus was probably used to mark slate and was used from medieval times well into the post-medieval period. There are many similar examples of this type of stylus on the database, including: NMS-579044, NLM-13A05B and IOW-3D7855.

An incomplete copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative Polden Hill of the Roman period, dating from c. AD 80 - c. AD 120. Approximately 20% of the brooch is present, consisting of the head and incomplete wings. Much of the spring, pin, bow, foot and catchplate are missing, presumably lost in antiquity. The pin, consisting of a cast piece of copper with a prong attachment which 'clips' onto a notch in the frame. The pin is complete. There is no decoration on the brooch frame and it is a patinated green colour.
