A complete and worn post-Medieval silver halfgroat of Charles I (1625-1649), minted at London. Group D, initial marks: triangle in circle/triangle in circle, 1641-1643 (North 1991: 162, ref: 2258).
Obverse: CAROLVS.D.G.M.B.F.ET.H REX; Crowned bust facing left with II (mark of value) behind the head.
Reverse: IVSTITIA THRONVM FIRMAT (Justice strengthens the throne); Oval garnished shield.
Diameter: 15.6mm. Weight: 0.76g. DA=12:8.
