An incomplete cast copper-alloy bow brooch of proto-headstud type, dating c. 75-150 AD. It demonstrates a circular-sectioned tubular winged head with an internal axis bar and pin-slot at the midpoint of its reverse face, the remnants of the pin still surviving in-situ. The front faces of each wing are decorated with double widened transverse grooves in addition to white-metal coating. An incomplete cast copper-alloy bow brooch of Colchester Derivative double-lugged type dating to the Roman period, c. 43-100 AD. The pin and spring are missing in old damage, though otherwise it survives intact. The brooch has a hemi-spherically sectioned winged head, the wings being plain and undecorated. Projecting from the reverse of the head at its midpoint is a protruding double-lug that originally would have secured the spring chord and axis bar. An apparently unlisted cast lead-alloy groat sized boy bishop token dating to the late Medieval or early Post-Medieval period, c. 1470-1539. Obverse: mitred profile bust of bishop right; SOSPI TATI DEDIT EGROS (he gave the sick unto security). Reverse: long cross quartering token, three pellets in each angle within inner pelleted border, legend in two concentric rings around; SANC/TE NI/CHO:/:LAE//ORA/PRO/NO/BIS (Saint Nicholas pray for us). No exact parallel listed in Rigold's (1978) work, but most closely related to series Ib3 (neat Bury series).
