Prehistoric flint edge retouched knife, probably of early Bronze age date. Formed on a roughly elliptical secondary flake of dark grey flint which has a domed cross-section. It has invasive retouch to all edges on the dorsal face, and white cortex is still present over the c.30% that is not retouched. The ventral face has a shallow bulb of percussion and ripple marks. It measures 39.2mm long by 20.8mm wide by 7.4mm wide, and weighs 7.2g.

The upper, smaller lug would formerly have attached to a fob, the other, longer lug is a hollow key stem to engage with a watch mechanism. The object comprises an irregular truncated bi-conical loom weight with a central perforation with an internal diameter of 8.96mm. One face is decorated with four radiating lines with pellets between, two pellets in one quadrant and a single pellet in the others. The reverse has a more random design of raised lines and pellets. Incomplete post-medieval copper alloy double-oval buckle frame, just over half survives, both loops oval, with a lobe at the ends of the bar and a moulded rosette in the centre of the surviving edge. The rosette is poorly cast. Rust on the bar suggests an iron pin. The form is comparable with Whitehead 2003, no. 408. An example from Camber Castle was found in a context dated 1543-1637 (Biddle et al. 2001, 260, fig. 7.2 no. 27). Extant length 30mm. Width 27mm. c.1550 - c.1650.

It is a conical weight with a rounded apex in which an iron loop has been inserted and sealed with lead alloy still visible on the base of the weight. An incomplete cast copper-alloy fragment of a zoomorphic plate brooch dating to the Roman period, c. 150-410 AD. In plan it would originally have taken the form of a horse and rider, though now only the head of the horse, its foreleg and the very front portion of its body survive. The upper face of the brooch demonstrates a circular cell just above the foreleg with the glassy remains of blue enamel inside, behind which are two smaller sub-triangular cells with the remnants of orange/red inlays. A medieval copper-alloy casket key, c.1200-1500. The key comprises the bow, stem and bit. The stem has been drilled to create a hollow tip. The bit of the key is composed of a square which has been notched at the mid points of the front and back edges. The bow is circular and has a narrow incised line at the point where the stem adjoins. A Medieval to Post-Medieval open thimble or sewing ring, probably dating to c. AD 1400-1600. The thimble consists of a hoop of copper alloy, now flattened and with a large dent to the upper edge. The hoop comprises of a flat band with a series of shallowly hand-drilled sub-circular indentations aranged into a series of concentric circles. Dimensions: Length 26.4mm; width 8.3mm; thickness 13.8mm; weight 4.29g. cf. Holmes (1988: fig. 4), dated to c. AD 1500.

A fragment of Roman ceramic sandy grey ware, probably East Sussex Ware, AD c.50-410. The object comprises a sherd of the rim of the vessel; the rim is at a right angle and has a flattened top. The rim is rounded and concave on the underside. The wall of the vessel curves outwards. There are striations on the underside of the rim and on the top of the rim, from where the clay may have been wiped down during production on a wheel. There are fine sandy inclusions in the fabric which is whitish in shade on all but the dark grey/black exterior surface.

A complete Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy mount or stud (c. 1400-c. 1700). The head of the mount is convex at the top and concave on the underside. The upper face is moulded and flower head-like in form. It consists of a central double lozenge surrounded by eight pellets, all surrounded by crescents. The integral tapering spike is square in cross-section. This object is green with traces of gilding on the upper face and also on the underside. Diameter: 19.0mm; height of head: 3.0mm; overall height: 18.1mm. Weight: 4.22g.

The spur takes the form of a seven-pointed mullet in plan, with a central perforation and with an incised groove radiating from this to the insterstice of each point. Dimensions: Diameter 42.1mm; thickness 2.4mm; weight 11.41g. A copper-alloy swivel strap fitting. The fitting is D shaped in plan and is primarily plain aside from two zoomorphic animal terminals which clasp, with their jaws, a central circular section bar. The section bar has a slightly off set central perforation through it. The swivel, now missing, would have been inserted through this perforation.
