A medieval, cast copper-alloy strap slide. Description: The frame is trapezoidal in plan and a flattened rectangle in cross section with an expanded leading edge. There is a circular, external, integral rivet projecting from the centre of the base of the frame. Measurements: Length including rivet 17.75mm: Width 15.15mm: Thickness of side walls 1.65mm and expanded edge 2.89mm: Weight 2.54g Discussion: Similar examples can be seen in Egan and Pritchard pages 230-232 and plate 147 no. 1239.

Medieval (1100-1500) complete half of a copper alloy two-piece swivel: The remaining swivel ring is the 'male' half and has a sub-oval frame. There is a perforated section is swollen and domed on the interior surface with a flat base on the exterior. Protruding from the base is an integral circular sectioned rod. The surface has a matte dark grey patina. The frame measures 22.24mm tall and 26.03mm long, 8.01mm wide, and weighing 4.37g. The missing second 'female' element would have been of a similar form with a perforation allowing the two objects to 'swivel'. Such swivels were…

A copper-alloy swivel strap fitting. The fitting is D shaped in plan and is primarily plain aside from two zoomorphic animal terminals which clasp, with their jaws, a central circular section bar. The section bar has a slightly off set central perforation through it. The swivel, now missing, would have been inserted through this perforation. The two zoomorphic animals may represent dog or serpents . Both heads are similar in size and form, and clasp, with open jaws, the central circular section bar.
