Prehistoric flint edge retouched knife, probably of early Bronze age date. Formed on a roughly elliptical secondary flake of dark grey flint which has a domed cross-section. It has invasive retouch to all edges on the dorsal face, and white cortex is still present over the c.30% that is not retouched. The ventral face has a shallow bulb of percussion and ripple marks.
It measures 39.2mm long by 20.8mm wide by 7.4mm wide, and weighs 7.2g.

Post-medieval copper alloy knife end-cap with the end of the iron scale-tang in a slot, cylindrical and of oval cross-section. The exterior is engraved with two saltires within rectangular frames and, on the proximal end, with eight radial lines (i.e. a cross on a saltire). Cf. NMS-2E5E73Z, LON-9FD153 and LEIC-026CDC. Length (excluding remains of tang) 15mm. Width 12mm. Thickness 11mm. The tang is wider, 14.5mm. 16th century.

A probable Neolithic flint knife, (c.4000 - c. 2200 BC)
Description: The knife is formed from a tertiary flake sub-rectangular in shape with a roughly triangular cross section, the flat face is the ventral side of the flake. The edge is created with short invasive scaled low angle retouch it doesn't extend to each end of the edge and has been worked from both faces. The opposite edge has some crushing at the top corner around a fault in the flint, possibly to blunt a sharp section the knapper didn't deem necessary.
