An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy single-loop buckle (c. 1250-c. 1400).
The pin and possibly a plate are missing.
This buckle frame is sub-triangular in plan, convex at the front and flat at the rear. The enlarged outer edge is triangular in plan and the upper face has a transverse notch for the pin tip. The narrowed off-set bar is rectangular in cross-section and is bent inwards towards the outer edge.
This buckle frame is green and corroded. There is a small deposit of iron at one end of the bar.

A fragment of a Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy double-looped buckle (c. 1350-c. 1650).
One loop and the pin are missing.
The frame is convex at the front and flat at the rear and the narrowed bar is 'D'-shaped in cross-section, flat at the rear.
This frame is brown, corroded and pitted.
Length: 17.3mm; width: 25.4mm; thickness: 2.3mm. Weight: 2.13g.
Similar buckles have been published and dated c. 1350-1650 (Whitehead 2003: 53).
