Copper alloy brooch fragment. Cast Colchester derivative brooch fragment, possibly Mackreth type CD RH 4. Semi-circular wings, open behind, bear a trace of a vertical groove on their display side. They are clasped by a D-section bow possibly with a central ridge, and possibly with a rearward facing hook lost from its crest. Most of the bow and the fastening gear are lost. Abraded. A late Anglo-Saxon openwork scabbard chape made in cast copper alloy. The chape is incomplete but is broadly rectangular in plan, missing the reverse openwork plate and also a long arm extending from the right-side of the chape. This arm would have supported and been attached to the scabbard sheath. The chape is cast in openwork; it depicts a warrior (possibly a Norman soldier), wearing a helmet with a top knop, a long tunic and carrying a kite-shaped shield and large battleaxe over his shoulder, leading a horse. Copper alloy probable key fragment. An object comprising two elements: a narrower solid round-section bar, angled sharply and with a knop at its external angle, here taken to be the lozengiform bow; and a broader rounded element whose narrower end is hollowed to a depth of c.5mm, the stem. There is a substantial rounded collar at the junction of stem and bow. The object is probably broken at both its ends. A medieval date is likely, and it could be assigned to London type VI, probably late 13th to 15th century. Length: 40.8mm, Height: 30mm, Thickness: 9.6mm, Weight: 12.79g.

An incomplete copper-alloy unidentified object, dating probably to the Medieval to Post Medieval period. It is a D-shaped cross-sectioned strip of metal bent in order to create a drop shaped loop; the loop is open because both ends of the strip are broken. The strip tapers slightly towards one end. An incomplete late Iron Age to Early Roman copper alloy strip-bow brooch, probably dating to c. AD 25-75. The brooch survives largely complete, missing the pin and axis bar. The head of the brooch survives to a width of 16.3mm; this comprises of a rectangular sheet of copper alloy, folded under itself to hold an axis bar and with a rectangular slot cut into the head to accommodate a hinge pin. Lead spindle whorl. Cast biconvex whorl with a central moulded aperture of diameter 9.4mm, and with moulded decoration in strong relief on both sides. On one side, this takes the form of a star of four points delineated by lines, with large pellets distributed to either side of the lines. The lines on the other side intersect with each other, and have [probably] more large pellets but distributed more randomly. A deep nick here, extending from the hole, might be a tying notch. An incomplete cast copper-alloy single loop buckle dating to the Medieval period (c. AD 1250-1400). The frame is oval shaped and sub-D-shaped in section with a notched lip flanked by two pairs of transverse knops. The loop extends to an offset stapbar that is rectangular in section, the pin from which is missing. The reverse of the frame is flat and undecorated. The buckle frame measures 22mm in length, 18mm in width and is 3mm thick. It weighs 1.96 grams.
