A copper-alloy artefact, most probably a vessel lid, probably of late Post-Medieval to Modern date. The remains of this lid weigh 40.89g. This artefact is formed of a sheet metal disc of 80.0mm diameter and 0.4mm thickness. This disc has several bends across it some of which have also cracked along part of the length of the bend. Much of the edge of the disc is also damaged resulting in an irregular circumference. No decoration is present on either side of the disc. An incomplete lead bulla (seal) dating to the 13th century AD. Papal bullae were seals placed on official documents for authenticity, sent out by the church in Rome (see Geoff Egan in Saunders (ed.) 2001 pp.87-91). A very similar bulla, but in better condition, is recorded as SUSS-170A48. The object has a pale whitish-beige patina and is worn around the edges. A complete silver openwork mount of Post-Medieval date (AD 1550-1750). The object is diamond shaped with an integral attachment loop on each of the four corners. The outer edge of the mount has repeating outer knops. There is an inner straight cross with a central raised knop, this forms four quadrants to the mount. Each quadrant is decorated with openwork consisting of repeating semi-circular beaded wires with knops at the points where each wire meets and adjoining wire or the central cross. The back of the object is flat and undecorated.

A knapped flint scraper of probable Bronze Age date (c.2350-800 BC). The flint is dark grey but is completely re-corticated with a dense white patination. The dorsal surface exhibits multiple negative flake scars from previous removals from several different directions indicating a multi-platform core. An incomplete Iron Age to Roman copper alloy strip bow brooch, proabably dating to AD 25-70. The head of the bow is incomplete, and the catchplate missing. The bow is flat in cross section with a central longitudinal rib, this is parallel sided whilst the sides of the bow converge slightly towards a sub-trapezoidal foot. A copper alloy Roman nummus of Constantius II (AD 323-361), Reece period 18, minted in AD 353 at Trier. The obverse on this coin is very worn, but the bust can just be seen facing right with its prominent ear. The reverse is of the SALVS AVG NOSTRI type with a chi-rho in the centre flanked by an alpha 'A' and omega 'ω'. This type was only struck at Trier and is attributed to a period known as the Revolt of Poemenius (Kent,1981, pp.164-165). This sherd was kindly identified by Wallace Collyer, Helen Fry and Sandra Firth of the North Lincolnshire Pottery Research Group.
