Iron ploughshare, as kindly identified by the finder. A triangular lightly concavo-convex bar with low [7mm maximum] ridges flanking its convex face, which tapers towards a triangular blade springing from its narrow end. The ridges appear to have been differentially reduced by wear. The concave side of the bar is featureless save for two partially blind holes of diameter 11mm at its broader end, which is angled. These presumably attached the share to a wooden beam. The object is covered, and corrosion of the iron perhaps retarded, by a creamy cement-like encrustation overall. The good…
