Incomplete medieval copper alloy folding strap clasp with composite trapezoidal frame, folding end with multiple transverse lines and a single rivet securing a faceted D-sectioned bar-mount, and sheet plate with single rivet at attachment-end, broken along loop on reverse. Face with remains of engraved interrupted rocker-arm border framing engraved decoration, comprising a double-line zig-zag with longitudinal dashes in the angles. Overall length 47mm. Frame 15.5 x 14mm. Plate 28 x 10.5mm. c.1350 - c.1450.

Description: Medieval silver pendant in the form of a plain cross. At the top is a backwards canted integrally cast suspension loop with a transverse ridge separating it from the arm of the cross. The tip is soldered to the top of the arm. The cross is formed from a single piece of sheet silver, the sides and ends of the arms folded backwards to create a hollow reverse. Circumstances: Found whilst searching with a metal detector. Description: Incomplete medieval gold finger ring. The bezel is oval, the upper half forming a collet with concave sides, open at the top to house a missing gem or other setting. The mouth is now damaged and bent out of shape. The lower face is divided from the upper by a circumferential ridge and has tapering sides and a flat bottom.
