A complete and worn post-Medieval silver Commonwealth (1649-1660) halfgroat, minted at London (North 1991: 206, ref: 2728).
Obverse: Shield of St. George within wreath formed of a palm and laurel branch.
Reverse: Conjoined shields of St. George and Ireland with II (mark of value) above.
Diameter: 16.9mm. Weight: 0.81g. DA=12:1.
The coin has been pierced with a circular hole, 2.0mm in diameter. The hole has been pierced from the reverse through to the obverse.
