A copper alloy fragment, probably from the bow of a great square headed brooch c. 450 - 600 AD. The bow has a central rib with panels either side containing asymmetrical, complex interlacing zoomorphic designs. The fragment has a deeply convex reverse and is roughly broken at the top and bottom of the bow. The surface has a mottled green-grey oxidation. Similar to fig from British Artefacts by Brett Hammond.
