A complete flint Mesolithic tranchet axe sometimes known as a Thames Valley Pick. The axe is broadly rectangular in shape; being formed from a long mottled mid-grey coloured flint nodule which has been shaped into a crudely lozenge sectioned implement. The long edges are parallel with the blade being rounded and thinner in section whilst the butt tapers slightly in width but expands in thickness.
