A medieval copper alloy buckle. The frame is oval in plan and triangular in section. It has a pinched lip. An integral forked spacer extends from the rear.

A copper alloy, single looped buckle dating to the period AD 1250- AD 1500. The buckle is incomplete due to the missing pin. The buckle is broadly 'D' shaped with a narrowed off set strap bar. The strap bar has small knops at either end. The outer edge of the buckle is broad and is slightly raised compared to the strap bar. It is also slightly bent and distorted. There is a small area of iron corrosion on the strap bar suggesting the pin may have been formed from iron. The buckle has a dark green coloured patina. An incomplete copper alloy double looped buckle of Post Medieval dating, circa AD 1550 -1650. The buckle consists of a double looped frame. The pin is missing, presumed lost in antiquity. The frame is sub oval in shape, and rectangular in cross section. There is a pointed knop either side of the axis bar and a moulded rosette on either edge of the outer loop frame. The back is flat and undecorated. The buckle has a mid to dark green coloured patina. It is possible the original surface was lacquered.
