An incomplete copper alloy Roman brooch, probably of the Polden Hill type dating to circa AD 80-120. Only the head of the brooch survives with the axis bar, spring, pin and lower bow, foot and catchplate now missing. The brooch is T-shaped in plan, the head is rounded and hump like in profile. The wings are broadly semi-cylindrical. At the reverse of the head there is a rectangular shaped slot that would have held the spring. A copper possible folding strap clasp with a separate plate of Late Medieval date, circa AD 1350-1450. The object is in two parts. The first part is a plate formed from a single sheet of copper alloy which has been wrapped around a now broken and partly missing frame. The plate has two long edges that narrow to a a slightly narrowed end that has a single rivet hole. The rivet is now missing. A complete lead alloy cloth seal probably dating to the Post Medieval period, circa 1500-1700. The seal comprises of two circular disks, broadly the same size, and a connecting strip. One face has a depiction of a rampant lion in light relief. The opposing face has the initial 'R' plus a number of small circular pellets surrounding. The surfaces of the seal are worn with a fairly even cream coloured patina. The cloth seal is in poor condition as a result of damage probably caused by movement in the plough soil. A copper alloy, single looped buckle dating to the period AD 1250- AD 1500. The buckle is incomplete due to the missing pin. The buckle is broadly 'D' shaped with a narrowed off set strap bar. The strap bar has small knops at either end. The outer edge of the buckle is broad and is slightly raised compared to the strap bar. It is also slightly bent and distorted. The obverse depicts a bust facing right and the reverse is virtually worn smooth. Coins of William III were commonly converted into love tokens. The love token has also been well cleaned by the finder.
