An incomplete cast copper alloy vessel mount in the form of a duck dating to the Roman period (c.AD 43-100). The object resembles a seated bird. The head and beak are teardrop shaped, and the eyes are represented by two raised curvilinear protrusions on either side of the head. The body is also teardrop shaped when viewed from above, and the sides are slightly raised to form the outlines of wings. An incomplete copper alloy Roman brooch, probably of the Polden Hill type dating to circa AD 80-120. Only the head of the brooch survives with the axis bar, spring, pin and lower bow, foot and catchplate now missing. The brooch is T-shaped in plan, the head is rounded and hump like in profile.
