Medieval (mid 13th to mid 15th century) folding clasp: The copper alloy clasp has a sub-rectangular frame, with convex exterior side edges, which are concave on the interior edge. The exteriors have two vertical ridges on each side face. Both strap bars are narrowed and one strap bar is off-set and the other has a copper alloy sheet curled around it. The frame has a dark green patina and the copper alloy sheet has a mid green patina. The clasp and sheet together measure 14.06mm long and 10.55mm wide across the frame. It weighs 1.35g. Medieval (1400 to 1550) thimble: A copper alloy thimble which is composed of a single shell. The exterior has a plain rim with a linear groove between the rim and indentations. There are rows of conical indentations, but the apex is not covered. The interior is undecorated. The surface of the thimble has a shiny mid green patina. The thimble measures 17.02mm long and 22.89mm wide. It weighs 3.63g. Holmes (1988) in Figure 2b illustrates a similar shaped and decorated thimble which he dates to the 15th to mid 16th century and calls it a heavy duty thimble. Holmes, E.F., 1988…

An incomplete and corroded Medieval copper-alloy single-loop buckle frame and folded sheet plate (c. 1250-c. 1400). The frame is trapezoidal in plan. It is 'D'-shaped in cross-section, flat at the rear. Each outer corner has a bulbous knop. There may have been a smaller knop at each inner corner.
