A heavily worn and corroded copper-alloy fragment, possibly from the handle of a jug imitating the 16th-17th century ceramic strap handles. Description: The fragment is B in cross-section to the ridged collar after this it is flattened and slightly splayed. The inner surface is flat and undecorated. The historic breaks are across the width of the object and very worn. A flint lithic implement probably dating from the Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age (3300 BC - 1000 BC). It is formed on a heat altered and crazed piece of flint, with some pot lid fractures on one face. It is oval in plan, but broken at one end, and a pointed oval in cross-section. There is invasive, scaled, low-angle retouch on both faces. This originally suggested use as an arrowhead, but the rounded end is not typical of arrowheads (Dodds 1/5/18 pers. comm.). A fragment of a copper-alloy Roman brooch of the Colchester derivative Type, dating to c. AD 43-70. It is the foot of the brooch. The bow is D-shaped in cross-section and sub-rectangular in plan, tapering towards the end. The back face of the foot has a catch-plate, which is triangular in profile with a sub-triangular perforation. Cast copper alloy rosette brooch, this has tubular wings that wrap around the spring encompassing it within a cylinder; one half of the spring still remains and is made from five curls with the base of the pin at one end. The bow emanates from the front of the wings to form a short semi-circular high arch. The opposite end of which terminates in a large circular plate that is decorated with four concentre raised bands. From the back of the plate prudes the flat leg, the lower portion of which is truncated resulting in the loss of the catch plate. Suggested AD 20-80.

A Roman copper-alloy Colchester derivative, Polden Hill brooch from the 1st-2nd century AD. The surviving part consists of the main stem, decorated with incised lines running uniformly parrallel to each other and curling around the teardrop shaped head. only the right hand bar survives, the left being reduced to a broken stub. The reverse of the bar is hollow, possibly as the anchoring point for the sprung pin.

An Incomplete copper alloy medieval buckle AD.1350 -1450. The object is a single loop D shaped buckle missing its pin,but with attached buckle plate. The pin rest is an extended projection on the apex of the frame, opposite the pin hole that pierces buckle plate. The buckle plate is rectangular, with a single rivet hole piercing the front plate. A complete lead-alloy Medieval spindle whorl, dating to the medieval period (circa AD1100-1500). The whorl is comprised of a broadly circular body. A copper-alloy barbarous radiate probably copying an issue of Tetricus I (AD 271-274) dating to c. AD 275-285. Reece period 14. Reverse: probably copying MARS VICTOR, Mars advancing right holding spear (though in the original coin he holds a spear and trophy). C.f Normanby p. 196, no. 1486. This is a rare issue for Tetricus, the Normanby hoard of 16,192 coins for Tetricus contained only five specimens of this reverse type.
