A coin hoard of four copper alloy cartwheel pennies of George III, Birmingham mint second issue, dated 1797 (Spink p.417 no.3777). Probably a chance purse loss. One penny has been deliberately bent in two places and drilled through. As this modified coin was found in a group with other pennies, suggested to be a purse loss, it can be inferred that, despite the modification, the coin would still have been an accepted item of tender. An incomplete copper-alloy Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) disc brooch, dating to c. AD 450-550. The brooch has a front decorated with a central circular perforation, at least two blind-drilled dots (at 2 o'clock and 6 o'clock) and a pair of closely-spaced fine concentric grooves encircling them, about halfway between the centre and the edge. The reverse of the brooch still has a semi-circular pin lug surviving, set at right angles to the edge of the brooch and with a central circular hole now blocked with iron corrosion. Body fragment of a cast copper alloy cooking vessel / skillet / cauldron of probably medieval date (c.AD 1200-1700). The fragment is part of the main body of the vessel. Its form is mostly flat but has a slight curvature. It has a dark brown / dark green patina. Bronze cooking vessels were expensive to purchase and so repairs were often made to the vessel when it became broken. An incomplete Post-Medieval cast copper alloy frame from a buckle dating to the period circa 1700-1720. The frame is an irregular rectangular in shape with the top and bottom edge curving slightly inwards towards the centre of the frame. Head and upper part of the bow of a Roman cast copper-alloy initial T-shaped brooch with hinged pin dating to c. AD 60-100. The brooch head has open-ended cylindrical wings, both slightly abraded at the ends, which are now 28.2mm wide. They have what is possibly the rusted remains of an iron axis bar for the hinge running through them and visible at the ends. An incomplete medieval cast copper alloy single loop D shape buckle with a narrowed and offset strap bar dating to c AD 1250 - 1350. It is missing its pin The frame of the buckle is D shape in section with a wide outer frame but no decoration. The plate is folded around the strap bar but truncated, extending only a short way beyond the fold.
