An incomplete cast copper-alloy penannular brooch of Iron Age or later date, c. 1-720 AD, corresponding to Fowler/Booth type C. The frame is oval in plan and rectangular-sectioned (flattened), demonstrating decoration on its upper surface consisting a raised central linear moulding. The ends of the frame spiral in on themselves, creating protruding decorative terminals in line with the plane of the frame. The pin is missing in old damag. Preserved in fair condition with a brownish black patina, it measures 20.06mm in diameter, 1.60mm thick at its midpoint and weighs 1.41g.

A copper-alloy 'Door Knob' spear butt of Roman or Early Medieval date, c. 200-300 AD or 500-600 AD. The object consists of a hollow plano-convex base, which extends upwards with a hollow flaring cylinder. The upper face of the convex part has traces of a raised circular section, which is where the cylinder meets the plano-convex element. The flat face has denting and a small perforation (1 mm of diameter) due probably to the use. The outer surface is corroded and abraded.
These objects were once thought to be Iron Age in date, however they are now known to be of either Roman or Ear…

Description: an incomplete silver gilt hooked clasp of Read's early Post-Medieval class B, type 2- dating c. 1550-1700. The clasp demonstrates a circular domed body decorated on its upper face with the applied filigree design of a six-petalled flower within a concentric circular border (on the entire of which traces of gilding are visible), while on its underside a broken attachment fitting with two eyes (the hook missing) has been soldered on.
