An iron axehead of uncertain date. The remains of this socketed tool-head weigh c.1.1kg (1100.00g). It has a length of c.160.0mm, maximum width of c.55.0mm and maximum height of c.61.0mm. The butt-end of the tool-head has an irregular oval shape through which is a sub-rectangular socket. This socket has a length of 39.0mm and width of 20.9mm. The width of the artefact then starts to taper forming what now appears to be a triangular cross-sectioned bladed end. A corroded, but possible copper alloy Roman coin; a contemporary copy (barbarous radiate) probably dating from AD 275 - 285 (Reece Period 14). The reverse depicts a soldier facing forwards, head right, holding a round shield in his left hand (on the right) and an upward pointing spear. There appears to be a beaded border. If this is a Roman coin, it is a very crude copy. The obverse is obscured with corrosion. The coin is 13.5mm diameter, 4mm thick and 1.81g.

An incomplete probable post-Medieval copper-alloy unidentified object (c. 1500-c. 1700). A broadly semi-circular object with an integral incomplete loop set at 90° to the semi-circular part. The front of the panel, between the loop and semi-circular part, has a ropework design. Each end of the semi-circular part has a break. The rear face is flat and plain. The design is similar in style to the ropework on some sword-belt fittings. This object is corroded green and has small patches of a black coating. Length: 24.0mm; width: 18.4mm; thickness: 6.0mm. An incomplete cast copper-alloy hooked tag of Post-Medieval date. It has a flat back with circular openwork plate and integrally cast rectangular suspension loop at the top of the plate. The fastener has a circular main body with a border of raised pellets. The body of the fastener is decorated with a cross centred with a raised pellet. A copper alloy post-medieval discoidal coin weight for a quarter-guinea, dating from AD 1760 - 1773. It is marked S.D / 5.3 in two lines in relief within a circumferential raised border on the obverse and reverse. The weight is 14.8mm diameter, 1.8mm thick and 1.79g. A cast copper alloy annular brooch of medieval date range 1250-1400. A circular open frame with a small narrowed section to accomodate the pin. The frame is D-shaped in cross section, flat on the reverse. There are clear file marks on the reverse. The front is decorated with a continuous series of evenly spaced and deeply incised notches in the form of chevrons. The pin is missing. The brooch has an even dark green patina. External diameter - 28.84mm , Internal diameter - 20.53mm, thickness - 1.45mm. Weight - 2.1g

A medieval copper-alloy English jetton, probably an unofficial issue. King's sterling bust type, with a crowned forward facing bust (crudely depicted) on he obverse, with a border of val pellets, and a long cross pattee with three pellets in each angle on the reverse, again, a border of oval pellets. The jetton is 19.4mm diameter, 0.9mm thick and 1.19g. Compare BUC-B3689E which cites Mernick reference 6a.17.14, dating from about AD 1280-1340, and Mitchiner (1988, 106) no. 165. A copper alloy Medieval object, possibly a book fitting dating from AD 1200 - 1500. The object is a rectangular plate, almost square, which has a large and worn loop, in the same plane as the plate, projecting from one end. At the other end, two lugs project, one at each side, perforated to support an axis bar which is now missing. This bar could have been half of a hinged fitting, or could have been for suspension, as in a chatelaine. A late medieval to post medieval copper alloy suspension loop from a purse, dating from about AD 1450 - 1550. It consists of a rectangular suspension loop with a moulded eight faceted globular collar below. The shank or interal rivet, which would have originally passed through the purse bar, extends below. The purse loop is 32.4mm long, 20.5mm wide and 9.1mm thick. 10.35g. It has a dark brown patina. Compare NMS-821725 which cites Ward-Perkins (1940) Type B4, and SWYOR-A43428, classified as Ward-Perkins Type B5.

An iron axehead of Early-Medieval date. These early Anglo-Saxon 'Francisca', Frankish throwing axes date from the 5th to the 8th century AD. The example recorded in this PAS record is a type from early in the chronology of Francisca. The remains of this socketed tool-head weigh c.0.6kg (600.00g). It has a length of c.146.0mm, maximum width of c.37.0mm and maximum height of c.85.0mm.
