An incomplete cast copper-alloy Langton Down (Mackreth C1) bow brooch of Late Iron Age or early Roman date, c. 25-60 AD. It is missing its foot, catchplate, spring and pin, though otherwise it survives intact. It demonstrates a broken tubular head with a raised moulding dividing it from the 'D' sectioned plain bow, which extends and tapers along its length before truncating in an irregular old break. Preserved in rather poor condition with an uneven greenish brown patina, it survives to a length of 35.19mm, 25.30mm wide at the head, and 3.39mm thick at the midpoint of the bow. …

It is 21.5 mm thick at the upper end, tapering to 7 mm at the foot, and weighs 437.15 g. An incomplete cast copper-alloy double-loop buckle frame dating to the Medieval period (c. AD 1350-1650). The frame is D-shaped in section and comprises two equal sized sub-oval loops with bevelled edges and expanded outside edges that bend inwards slightly. The strap bar is narrowed with a D-shaped cross section. The outside edge is plain and the pin is missing. The reverse is relatively flat and undecorated. The buckle frame measures 31mm in length, has a maximum diameter of 21mm and a thickness of 3mm. The buckle frame weighs 3.69 grams.

Lead musket ball. Cast ball with numerous crescentic and triangular indentations, probably the result of chewing by vermin or a small child; patinated. The mass indicates this to meet the criteria for a musket ball of 12 bore weight [i.e. twelve bullets to an averdepois pound] set out by Glen Foard of the Battlefields Trust with reference to the English Civil War.
