An incomplete lead-alloy pilgrim badge of medieval date, c.AD 1200 - 1400. The object is rectangular in plan with a narrow rectangular section. Each of the four corners are broken and worn though would have featured sewing holes. The front faces bears a moulded design featuring a knight on horseback riding left within a beaded border. The name +GVILELM is present along the top edge. The reverse is undecorated.
The imagery represents St Guilhem-le-Desert of Southern France. St Guilhem was a cousin of Charlemagne who halted the invasion of the Frankish Kingdom by the Arabs in AD 793.…

Roman copper alloy pin of Cool's (1990) Group 1 dating to the period c. AD 43 - 409. Simple, globular head. The shaft tapers from the head, swelling towarsd the middle and then tapering to a point. The shaft is bent at a sharp angle just below the swollen part of the shaft. Cool (ibid) notes that pins of this form are common in East Anglia.

A complete copper-alloy folding strap clasp buckle of medieval date, c.AD 1350 - 1450. The frame is sub-rectangular with a narrowed and offset rectangular strap bar. The opposite end of the frame is circular in section and also narrowed with a rotating closure plate looped around it. The plate is decorated with two incised X's within rectangular borders.
The metal has a dark brown/green patina and is worn. The clasp is 21.7mm long, 12.1mm wide, 3.7mm thick and weighs 1.9g.
Similar examples are illustrated in Whitehead p.41 and are dated to circa AD 1350 - 1450.

A cast copper-alloy button and loop fastener of Wild's Class IX dating to the Roman period probably 50AD - 410AD. The fastener has an open disc-head, with the diameter of the loop. The back of the disc is attached to an L-shaped body, with the leg of the body raising the disc off the body. The body is rectangular in section. An incomplete lead alloy button, probably of late Medieval dating (about AD 1300 - 1500) and with evidence of repair.
The head of the button is circular, and slightly domed, with a flat back. The front has a central cross design in relief, created by four chevron shaped recesses. The arms of the cross terminate with a pellet, with further pellets round the outer edge in the angle of each chevron. The pellets are all very worn. An Middle Iron Age copper alloy bowed plate brooch with hinge, pin and catchplate dating to 400-200 BC. The bow is a wide H shape in plan where the foot and head parts of the plate are perpendicular to the slightly arched bow. A channel runs across the foot, along the bow and across the head. The object comprises the incomplete headplate only, and is probably from a cruciform brooch. The headplate is flat and rectangular, and missing most of its edge; it is decorated with five (two incomplete) ring-and-dot motifs, one centrally placed and the others in each corner. A copper alloy Roman Aesica brooch dating to c AD 25-60. The brooch is missing part of the fantail and its pin. The brooch is complex. The wings are short and are semi-circular to cover the spring. Two parts extend down from the wings. First is a flat plate which is lozengiform, narrow at the top and then extending diagonal to terminate with a knop at each point and then narrowing again before finally broadening to create a triangular fantail, which is missing both its final points. A copper alloy Roman plate brooch in the shape of a crescent dating to c AD 120-220. The brooch is almost complete and is only missing its pin and the boss from one tip of the crescent. The brooch is flat and in the shape of a crescent with a boss on the one remaining point. The outer edge of the crescent has a sawtooth design with the centre two teeth forming a different motif.
