A complete cast copper alloy probable harness pendant (or belt fitting?) dating to the medieval period, c. AD 1200-1500. The pendant is cast in one piece and has a large loop with quatrefoil openwork aperture and below this a scallop-shell-shaped pendant. The upper surface does not appear to have been decorated. The scallop shell was associated with pilgrimage. The quatrefoil aperture is reminiscent of some belt fittings of 16th century date.
