An incomplete knapped and polished flint axehead dating to the Neolithic period, c. 4000-2500 BC. The butt and midsection are missing in an oblique patinated break, with only the lower body and cutting edge preserved extant. Deep negative flaking on both sides of the axe close to this break suggests this may have resulted from use. Demonstrating a rectangular section and slightly expanding flat sides, the axe has been manufactured on a piece of greyish flint which has now in places patinated to an off-white mottled with blue. Considerable iron staining on both faces marks the location…

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) box catch, dating to AD 600-700. An incomplete cast copper-alloy strap end of Thomas' class E, dating c. 900-1100. Originally the strap end would have been tongue shaped in plan, though now the terminal end is missing in old damage and it subsequently is rectangular in form. Despite this damage, the remainder of the object is preserved relatively intact.
