Object type: RING
Broad period: MEDIEVAL
County: Hampshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A copper alloy ring of uncertain dating and function. The ring is worn and undecorated. The metal is mid green in colour.
Plain rings are very difficult to date, the very crude nature of this cast example would suggested a probable Medieval date, although with no decoration and crude production makes an exact date difficult to assign. Their use is probably related to horse or animal harnesses.
