An incomplete lead alloy button, probably of late Medieval dating (about AD 1300 - 1500) and with evidence of repair. The head of the button is circular, and slightly domed, with a flat back. The front has a central cross design in relief, created by four chevron shaped recesses. The arms of the cross terminate with a pellet, with further pellets round the outer edge in the angle of each chevron. The pellets are all very worn. Lead spindle whorl. Cast biconvex whorl with a central moulded aperture of diameter 11mm. Each side bears moulded decoration comprising a prominent rim around the central hole, a slightly wandering circumferential rib at about the middle of either side, and a series of radial lines which pass from the rim of the central hole across the medial lines and joining a prominent flattened outer rim where the two halves meet. One side is flat and featureless; the other bears decorative moulded radial lines, variously angled, scattered pellets, and a prominent outer rim. Patinated. Copper alloy stirrup terminal. A cast concavo-convex object, approaching conical form, of which the hollow side is thought to engage with a stirrup. On one side, the object bears a moulded chevron oriented towards a horizontal rib with two low rounded horns projecting from its ends, the overall effect being vaguely anthropomorphic. Copper alloy probable pendant fragment. A possibly die-stamped openwork frame of sub-triangular form, comprising an anchor-shaped figure with knopped top loop set between a pair of diverging struts which end at a curved bar. This extends between what appear likely to have been loops for an axis bar at the ends of the struts, and it is suggested a flat discoid plate would be retained here, possibly freely turning, and probably as the most striking part of the assembled piece.
