Incomplete Post Medieval copper alloy toy cannon, dating to the period c.AD 1750-1850. The cascabel has a globular knob and then expands into the first reinforce. The touch hole is flanked on either side by a circumferentially moulded band. There is a thick circumferentially moulded band in the centre of the cannon with the trunnion projecting on either side. Medieval buckle (late 14th to early 16th century): A cast copper alloy annular buckle which is sub-rectangular in section and varies in width. In plan, the buckle frame is sub-circular in plan. The frame is undecorated and has fine file marks. There is a pin curled around the frame which is narrowed along its length by being curled slightly. The surface of the frame is in fair condition and has a dark green patina. The buckle frame measures 21.53mm long, 20.21mm wide, 5mm thick. It weighs 2.42g. Incomplete and distorted medieval gilt copper alloy oval buckle frame, with most of the offset, narrowed bar missing. Worn and corroded, almost all of the gilding has been lost and the decoration is faint. The broad outside edge and sides are engraved with broad running double-strand interlace. Estimated length c.25mm and width c.48mm. Mid 12th - 13th century.

Short, stout axe of off-white patination with the coarse inclusions now light grey in appearance, with spotty iron stains to both faces, mostly to the high points. All flake removals are hard hammer struck, the flaking angles to the edges are at 90 degrees so many removals have repeatedly terminated in step or hinges, the edges are not ground after flaking. The cutting edge is only slightly convex and is very likely to have been reshaped from an originally longer axe, presumably after damage to the original cutting edge has occurred from use. A complete copper alloy Roman stud, dating to the period c.AD 43-410. The stud has a head which is circular in plan and rectangular in cross-section. It is concave, with a central conical boss projecting upwards from the centre of the head. This has a shallow recess at its terminal. The head tapers to a flat reverse from which a rectangular cross-sectioned shank projects. This tapers to a worn point. A green patina is on the surface. The stud measures 20.56mm in length, 13.18mm in diameter at the head, and 4.01mm in thickness at the shank, and weighs 4.72g. Cf. Crummy 1983, p. 1…

An incomplete post medieval cast copper alloy double loop angle framed oval buckle, missing its pin. It dates to c AD 1540 - 1600. The buckle has two oval loops with a central bar flanked by knops. The buckle frame is D-shaped in cross section and with the outer edge of each frame expanded and moulded into a rossette. Traces of a black laquer survive on the surface. Post-medieval mount, possibly a harness boss. The object is ovoid in shape with a convex face. The design on the front of the object is radially symmetrical and consists of an inner circle which is raised and smooth, surrounded by a border of alternating pine cones and oak leaves in relief. These in turn are enclosed by a corded rim. There are possible traces of silvering in recessed areas of the design. The reverse of the object is smooth and concave with no decoration, but has the remains of possible attachment points on either side.

Medieval (mid 14th to early 15th century) buckle: The copper alloy buckle has a D-shaped frame with an integral spacer. The frame, on the outer edge at the apex, has a small triangular integral protrusion with a notch for the pin. The upper surface of the frame is obliquely angled, whereas the reverse is flat. Medieval - post medieval copper alloy unidentified object, possibly a hooked tag or book fitting. Sheet metal cut into an oval shape with a triangular projection on one side, the tip bent downwards to form a small hook. The front of the plate exhibits a trefoil design, each line composed of two rows of punched rectangles. Towards the rear edge of the plate, and within the central fleur, is a circualr rivet hole retaining the remains of a copper alloy rivet. Simialr examples recordedon the PAS database include: SOM-482D35, SUR-1B5329, NMS-BED3F0 & NMS-EFF578.
