Copper alloy button. A decorative openwork possibly die-stamped circular button with a drawn wire loop in the back. The loop is fixed to the interior of a central rounded boss which rises from a round frame of three stepped and finely beaded orders. An openwork star of eight points springs from the basal frame or collar, with a ring of sixteen juxtaposed circular settings, each with a flat surface which appears like, but is not, a glass paste stone. Their reflective surface arises from relicts of white metal plating, formerly more extensive. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1700-1800. …

Copper alloy buckle. Cast sub-rectangular buckle with a flat frame with rounded corners and a strap bar of round section set back from the frame. The allowance for a thick strap and the robust construction suggest this was for use with horse trappings. Bent, probably by plough-strike rather than use.
