Copper alloy medieval strap end with shield shaped plate and riveted transverse bar mount across the square end. There are two medial copper alloy rivets both with surviving roves on the reverse. Similar Strap Ends are illustrated in Egan, G Dress Accessories 1150-1450 (2002) p157. BERK-18B914 on the PAS database is also a good parallel. Circa AD 1250-1450.

A copper-alloy Post-Medieval symmetrical flat mount with two integral pointed rivets or lugs. This artefact weighs 4.48g has a length of 36.4mm and maximum width of 10.0mm. The body of the mount is sub-rectangular and has a thickness of 1.9mm. The long edges undulate with four convex and three concave curves per side. The short edges are relatively straight with a slight convex curve. The body of the object is circular with a diameter of 15.9mm and rectangular cross-section. The edges have slight damage and this results in a rough uneven rim. An extremely worn silver coin. The coin weighs 1.9g, has a diameter of 19.4mm and thickness of 0.6mm. The thinness, look and feel of this coin would suggest a hammered rather than milled coin. No legend is even slightly visible on either the obverse or reverse. One side of the flan seems to show the ends of a laureate tie, reverse head profile, forehead and upper nose profile of a head or bust right.
