An incomplete plated contemporary copy of a silver Roman denarius of Hadrian (AD 117-138), probably dating to the period c.AD 127-128 (Reece period 6). [COS III] reverse type probably depicting Pudicitia seated left, globe in exergue. Mint of Rome. cf. RIC II, p. 361, no. 179 passim for the reverse type. The copper-alloy core is visible beneath the silver plating due to corrosion of the surfaces. Measurements: 18.58mm in diameter, 2.78mm thick and 1.86g in weight.
