A cast, copper alloy dress hook, probably dating to c. AD 1500-1650. The dress hook comprises of a central, downward pointing sub-circular plate, broadly flat in cross section, with a rearward facing hook protruding from the base of the plate. The hook has a D-shaped cross section. A rectangular attachment loop expands from the top of the plate. The plate is decorated with a central, chequered lozenge of 8 small pellets, in low relief. Cast copper alloy fragment from a hooked strap fitting of probable post-medieval date (1500-1700). The strap fitting is broadly sub-rectangular in plan. The fitting can be divided into two separate parts; the body and the hooked terminal. The hooked terminal is integrally cast and formed by bending the lower part of the fitting back upon itself to form a U shaped hook. Cast lead or lead alloy bi-convex decorated spindle whorl of Roman to Post Medieval date (1 - 1650 AD); most probably medieval date (AD 1300-1550). The spindle whorl is circular in plan and bi-convex in profile. Both faces have a cast rim around the edge and also a similar rim around the circumference of the inner hole. A late medieval or early post-medieval (1400-1600) chape from a dagger scabbard. The chape is made from folded copper-alloy sheet that has been crimped and hammered at the edges to create the form. It is an irregular sub-triangular shape in plan, with tapering edges and an irregular oval shape in cross section distorted by movement in the ploughsoil. A Post-Medieval copper alloy rowel spur, probably dating to c. AD 1700-1850. The spur is fragmentary, with only one abraded arm and a circular-sectioned neck surviving. The rowel box, rowel and second arm all lost to old breaks. The surviving arm is plano-convex in cross section. The spur appears undecorated, but has surviving traces of a white metal coating. Dimensions: length 71.5mm; width c. 73mm; thickness 11.7mm; weight 23.60g.
