Part of the mouth of a socket from an unidentified object, possibly a Bronze Age axe or hammer, possibly a Medieval staff or similar. Only part of two sides remain and the corner between them so the full dimensions of the socket are unclear. All the breaks are old and patinated. The socket appears to have been square in section with slightly convex sides. The inside is smooth with a slightly white metakl sheen, probably from tin. The outerside is more corroded with a pitted green surface. At the mouth is a slight lip which projects more in places and maybe a cleaned casting flash. …

Large hand wrought iron nail with a large boss like square shaped head with a distinctive D shaped cross section. The shank of the nail is square and broken. The surface of the nail suffers from active laminating corrosion. A direct parallel has not been found, but the shear size suggests that it was not for domestic furniture, instead it is suggested that it might be an iron nail from a studded timber door, or possibly from a boat. A date is also difficult to suggest - it is possibly ancient but as it is hand made it could date from as late as 1900. The iron nail measures, 50.3mm …

An unidentified copper alloy object of uncertain date. The object consists of a copper alloy loop and highly corroded, partial iron shank. The loop has an inverted, sub-piriform plan, flaring outwards into a circular base, creating a narrowed waist. The piriform section is sub-rectangular in cross section. The broad side of the terminal is perforated, forming a loop; the opening is sub-rectangular, with 'pinched' lateral sides and a sloping lower edge, narrowing into a circular perforation. A corroded iron shank projects from the circular base, now roughly sub-rectangular in cross sec…
