A complete Medieval to post-Medieval lead alloy standing weight (c. 1200-c. 1600). This weight is sub-square in cross-section and tapers from the base towards the suspension loop at the top. The base is rounded and the top is narrowed and pierced with a circular hole, 3.0mm in diameter. The two faces on the same plane as the hole have indentations. The weight is greyish buff. Height: 37.0mm; width: 15.4mm; thickness: 13.6mm. Weight: 39.28g. Biggs and Withers (2000) suggest that this type of weight first appeared around c. 1200. Cast copper alloy bridle bit with part of the mount remaining at one end of the eye ring which tapers to half of the snaffle link on the other side. The eye ring would have joined the rein to the snaffle link which was placed in the horse's mouth. The eye ring is D-shaped in plan and section with an aperture that is 14 mm in diameter. The snaffle link is cylindrical and circular in section, with a length of 23 mm and a diameter of 8 mm. Incomplete fragment of a cast copper alloy suspension loop possibly from a purse bar or frame of late Medieval or early Post-Medieval date (1450 - 1550). The fragment is oval in plan with tapering sides and rounded a small cylindrical knop at the base. The loop is also sub-rectangular (D shaped) in cross section. The cast hole is located centrally and is oval in shape. It measures 22.9mm in length and 10.7mm width. The knop, at the base of the loop, projects 5.2mm and has a diameter of 6.2mm. An incomplete cast and wrought lead alloy badge of uncertain - most probably post medieval (1600-1800) date. The badge is irregular in form (being created from two square shapes aligned at 45 degree to form a star) and rectangular in cross section. The front face has eight evenly but irregularly spaced triangular points extending from a low central circular boss.
