Broad period: MEDIEVAL
County: Lincolnshire

A probable copper alloy medieval sterling bust jetton dating from c.1302-50. The coin depicts a crowned bust on the obverse, and a long cross with pellets in each quarter on the reverse. For similar examples see Mitchiner 1988, page 106, numbers 165-166. The jetton is worn, and it is possible that this is actually a contemporary copy of a silver Edwardian penny rather than a jetton.
